Cross Planting_3On June 7, 2014 the Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Beavertown held an official ceremony and a service for planting of the Life-giving Cross lead by Archbishop Melchisedek Pleska of Pittsburgh assisted by Archpriest John Reeves, Rector of Holy Trinity Parish, Priest Basil Biberdorf, priest assigned to the Chapel, and Deacon David Smith of Beavertown including many faithful from CHS mission group, Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of State College and many other visitors.

The Beavertown Chapel is a mission of Holy Trinity Parish, which started in 2009. Land for its building was bought in 2012. The ground-breaking for the new church building will be taking place after the terms of a loan are fully established and agreed upon by the members of Holy Trinity Church and Chapel of the Holy Spirit.

It was a true blessing to experience and participate in this uplifing spiritual event, and we pray that this will lead us to proclaiming True Love of Our Lord Jesus Christ to our local community and allow us to build and grow our spiritual family!
